Masterclasses and Workshops

Joshua regularly presents masterclasses and workshops for American Guild of Organists chapters, colleges, universities, and church music programs. Popular topics include hymn playing, service playing, organ registration, improvisation, repertoire interpretation, practice techniques, and building a successful career in church music.

Designed for organists at a variety of skill levels, these sessions combine practical demonstrations with hands-on instruction, offering participants tools they can immediately apply in worship, teaching, and performance settings.

Children's Programs and Organ Discovery

Joshua is especially passionate about introducing young people to the organ. At First Congregational Church in Columbus, Ohio, he founded the First Church Choristers program and regularly presents educational events designed to engage children and families with the "King of Instruments."

Programs may include interactive demonstrations, opportunities for children to play the organ, and activities using the internationally acclaimed OrgelKids Kit, a working pipe organ model that allows participants to explore firsthand how an organ produces sound. These programs make the organ accessible, engaging, and fun for audiences who may be encountering the instrument for the first time.

Private Lessons and Coaching

Joshua offers private instruction and coaching for organists, church musicians, and students preparing for auditions, competitions, recitals, and service playing responsibilities. Lessons may focus on technique, repertoire, hymn playing, improvisation, registration, liturgical leadership, practice strategies, or career development.
